Roles of SLMS and Artifacts 6461- Media Center budget plan and development: Program Administrator
Reflection Connecting Outcomes, Standards, and Artifacts By developing and planning a budget for a media center, I have acquired necessary knowledge that I will use as program administrator in a library. This project taught me the items that must be considered in budget planning such as equipment repair, demographic and population growth, updates to the collection, and other supply needs. Planning a budget requires thought and justification of every item, especially with these times of tighten budgets. (AASL5.3) I gained experience on how to physically set up a media center by developing a floor plan of the media center and thinking about changes to make a facility better. This project helped me visualize ways to highlight the best features of the collection, and create a satisfying learning environment that is inviting to all patrons and stakeholders. These skills will enable me to be an efficient program administrator. (AASL 5.3, PSC 1.e)
