Bengali Independence and Human Rights

The idea for this project stems from current political issues arising in Bangladesh today. They are currently trying to convict and put to death military officials that were charged with genocide and war crimes during their war for independence against Pakistan. Bangladesh is currently receiving pressure from other Islamic countries to free these individuals. Many of Bangladeshs young people are peacefully protesting for the conviction and death of the war criminals.

The collection consists of about 2,000 photographs, 1,000 newspaper articles, and 800 maps. All of the intellectual property rights exist with the University of Miami. These items will be digitized as Tiff files and JPeg files.
