This will create more room in the fitness room, insuring that all students will be able to complete the entire workout plan. They should be proficient in performing all exercises and they should have an understanding of what exercises emphasize what muscles in the body.

ASSESSMENT BEFORE THE LESSON Pre-assessment Prior to this lesson, students have been graded on the creation of their own workout plan by using the workout plan rubric. They also have completed exit tickets and worksheets focused on the fitness components, heart rate and muscle components which have given the students the tools needed to complete their own workout plan, as well as perform theirs and others. Goal Setting Students will set goals regarding how many reps/sets they can lift or perform at a given weight/body weight for a given exercise. 7. Communication Students will communicate with their peers when following all safety procedures. A spotter must be used at all times if performing fitness room exercises.

2. Application of Skills Students will apply previously learned knowledge on how to perform different lifts and exercises when completing their peers created workout plan. They will demonstrate proper form, technique and follow all safety procedures.

4. Health Related Fitness Students will perform a workout plan created by one of the peers that will overall enhance their muscular strength and muscular endurance.

Introduction Total time: 5 Minutes Main Activity Total time: 25 Minutes Upon entering the gym, students will get a pedometer and then get into their squad lines. Lesson Objective(s): Students will receive, at random, another students created workout plan for either day one or day two Student will then perform that workout plan in the given facility (fitness room or multi-purpose room) Planned Transitions: Perform Cool Down indicated on students workout plan Walk back to gym to meet with rest of class Cool-down Total time: 5 Minutes

Assessment

Students will be split up into two groups to ensure that all students have enough time and space to perform the created workout plan. Half the class will be in the fitness room performing the weighted workout plan, and the other half will be in the multi-purpose room performing the non weighted workout plan.

Students will be assessed by their pedometer throughout the entire class period Students will be assessed by observation throughout the entire class period. Are they staying on task? Are they performing the exercises correctly? Are they following all safety procedures?

The other group will be in the fitness room performing the weight workout plan. This will ensure that all students have enough space and time to complete the exercises and entire workout plan they are performing.
