The following is the test for Module 6, Presentation.

1. Start the presentation application and open a new presentation. The first slide is to be a
title only slide. Select an appropriate layout format for this kind of slide.

2. Insert the text Candidate Instructions as the title in slide 1.

3. Create a new slide using the AutoLayout for an Organisation Chart. Type in the details as
shown below. Give the organisation chart slide the title Progression Route

4. Create a new slide using the AutoLayout for Text and Clipart. Enter the heading
Candidate Instructions

5. Input the details below in bullet point format:

 You may not take any test papers away.
 You may not use course materials during the test
 You are not allowed to talk to other candidates.
 If you have a problem please attract the invigilator
 You cannot leave the test room during a test unaccompanied
 The duration of a test is 45 minutes

6. Select a suitable picture to accompany your slide from the Clipart Gallery.

7. Print out your slides as Handouts (ie all on one page). And save as ECDL 1

8. Alter the size of the clipart image so that it appears as a small picture in the bottom right
of the slide.

9. Re-print your slides as Handouts. Save your File as ECDL2

10. Apply a shadow to the text Candidate Instructions.

11. Change the font for Progression Route. in the title to Arial.

12. Add a footer with your own name and the text PROGRESSION

13. Number all the slides in the presentation. Print the presentation in outline view.

14. Re-save the presentation as ECDLOL on your Candidate Disk and close the presentation
application.

15. Load Microsoft Word onto your computer. Type in the following text. At the end type in
your own name and today’s date.

What will happen

This is a practical test; you will complete the test using a PC. There are two sections to
be completed during the forty-five minute test. The sections contain fifteen tasks. Please
ensure that you allow yourself enough time to complete each task. If you don't know how
to complete a task, go on to the next one and attempt it if you have time at the end.
Please, read the tasks carefully.

If you have time when you have completed all of the tasks, check your work to ensure
you have not made any obvious errors. Most importantly relax and be calm, there is
nothing to be worried about.

Please remember if you break the rules your test may become invalid! Good luck with
your test

16. Save the file as Candidate Instructions on the disc provided. Print out a copy of this

17. Delete the last paragraph from Please to test inclusive. 1 Mark
18. Move the last paragraph so that it becomes the first paragraph and fully justify the text.

19. Centre and embolden the Heading. Change the size of the text for the Heading to 18 pt.

20. Change the font style for your name and the date to Comic Sans MS. 1 Mark
21. Underline the word sections wherever it occurs. 1 Mark
22. Change the word Practical in the last paragraph to Italics. 1 Mark
23. Change your name and the date so that it is Right Aligned. 1 Mark
24. Save the changes to the file as Candidate Instructions 1. 1 Mark
25. Check your work carefully for spelling mistakes. Print out the amended document. You
should now have 2 WORD printouts. 1 Mark
26. Open the presentation ECDLtest1 from your Candidate Disk. 1 Mark
27. Insert a new BLANK slide as slide 2 in the ECDL1 presentation. 1 Mark
28. Copy the SECOND paragraph from the document saved as Candidate Instructions1 into
this slide. 1 Mark
29. Change the font style on slide 2 to a different but legible style. Change the font colour in
slide 2 to blue. . 1 Mark
30. Apply a slide transition effect between all the slides. 1 Mark
31. Save the presentation as ECDLfinal to your Candidate Disk. 1 Mark
