TO: College Principal FROM: School of vocation SUBJECT:SUGGESTIONS TOWARDS IMPROVING STUDENTS PERFORMANCE IN THE NEXT MOCK EXAMINATION

After series of meeting at the Unit and School level, the following were arrived at: 1. BASIC TECH UNIT OBSERVATION It was observed that the exam (First Mock) actually achieved some of its aims, i.e. -to acquaint students with a proto-type of what they should expect in their final exam, -to expose them to areas where they are weak -give teachers an insight of students strength and weaknesses RECOMMENDATIONS 1. During promotional examinations for exam classes, only students that merit to be promoted should be the ones to be promoted (for subsequent promotional exams to avoid / minimize this type of situation) 2. Questions that 60% of the students failed in the Mock exam should be repeated in the next exam 3. Teachers should concentrate on compulsory topics and use appropriate questions to summarize such topics 4. Teachers should make it a point of duty to give students (as many as possible) possible and past questions as review question on major and compulsory topics 5. Teachers should encourage students to do group study

HEAD OF UNIT (BASIC TECH)

AGRIC UNIT 1. The teacher will identify weak students and give them extra attention in class like regularly directing questions at time 2. The weak students will be grouped into four or five to give presentation on topics it is observed they are weak in class while the teacher polish their points where necessary 3. The teacher will enforce to make sure all students have their notes including SS 1 & 2 works.

BUSINESS STUDIES UNIT 1. REVISION WOULD BE INTENSIFIED AND ALL THE AVOIDABLE MISTAKES CORRECTED BEFORE THE NEXT MOCK EXAMS. 2. ATTACHING OF WEAKER STUDENTS TO THE STRONGER ONES FOR GROUP STUDIES. 3. ONE-ON-ONE DISCUSSION WITH THE STUDENTS CONCERNED TO PUT THEM MORE ON THE RIGHT APPROACHES TO QUESTIONS. 4. THE TEACHER SHOULD ALSO ENFORCEED THE STUDENTS TO COMPLY WITH THE INSTRUCTION AS REGARDS TO ANSWERING OF QUESTIONS
