A45(*&$( Print media organization is good at giving news and opinions to a large number of people, retaining these people and building internal and external goodwill beyond reasonable assumption needed for an organization to remain and prosper. Because of this, the establishment of the media in Nigeria, vanguard and punch newspapers for instance was raised. The disparities in media function thus, informed the study in creating awareness against drug abuse in Nigeria ( case study of vanguard and punch newspapers!. The electronic media (television and radio were studied e"ually!. Two hypotheses were formulated. The chi#s"uare statistical approach was used to test the hypotheses after "uestionnaire were administered to $%% respondents. The two hypotheses received statistical support, showing that people received information about drug abuses more on print media (Newspapers and magazines! within & month pril, 'ay and (une )%%* followed by the electronic media (Television and +adio!. ,urvey method were used in the study as methodology. -n recommendations, since the print media was found to be the .hief source of drug awareness and was chosen to be the ultimate, officers of drug enforcement agencies should increase the use of print media in the enlightenment of Nigerians on the danger of the menace, also the electronic media should not be under#rated. Both are expected to wor/ hand in hand to fight against drug abuse in Nigeria.
