Hire her.

If you are reading this letter it means you have the opportunity to hire Jen Bogosian as a teacher in your school and you shouldnt hesitate at all to hire her. I was a middle school principal for 10 years and educator for nearly 20. When I retired I came to ARS Services where Jen had recently started as Inside Project Manager. I eventually became her supervisor but more accurately we were partners in leading our office to record profits. Jen frequently talked about her passion to become a teacher so it did not come as a surprise when she decided to go back to school to pursue her goal. Although I was sad to see her leave I was excited for the children she would eventually work with. The poise, intelligence and intangibles which Jen displayed in her role at ARS will undoubtedly transfer into a very special teacher. The poise which Jen possesses will enable her to have outstanding classroom management. ARS is a business which responds to emergency losses to property (fires, floods, mold, dead bodies, etc). Jens job entailed: being the first point of contact for these losses, managing approximately fifty jobs at any one time and supervising all of the other Inside Managers in our office. There are many parallels to managing 5 classes each day, 100 students, 200 parents. I can genuinely say that I have never seen anyone, regardless of age or experience, maintain such poise despite incredibly intense situations on a daily basis. Her abilities to empathize, listen, anticipate and organized enable her to stay poised and will result in strong classroom management. Jen is also extremely intelligent which she displayed in mastering her responsibilities and developing methods to teach others how to get better at their job. Although I have never seen Jen teach middle school students, her capacity to teach others to master skills and knowledge is without question. Jen developed strategies and resources to help the people she worked with to get better at their jobs Jen possesses many intangibles which will enable her to be a successful teacher. She is an exceptional listener who is empathetic to the thoughts of others. She is inspirational in her outlook of the world where she lights up a room with her smile and upbeat personality. I envision that Jen will be that teacher who the students want as their teacher and the other teachers want on their teaching team. She will be the professional who will work on committees to improve the school and develop curriculum and the difference maker who will coach and run clubs after school.
