Describe your educational experience/artifact:

(or this standard ) decided to use two different artifacts that show "* abilit* to "odif* units or lessons for students with disabilities+ The Aquatics Handbook provides a variet* of different resources that can be used b* a teacher or swi""ing instructor that "a* work with students with disabilities in a pool or an* t*pe of swi""ing area+ ,ithin the hand book ) included visual aids to help during instruction- different ga"es and activities- different safet* equip"ent that can be used for various disabilities- a plethora of resources to research additional infor"ation for adaptive aquatics and different assess"ents that can be used during a lesson+ The other artifact ) decided to include was a "odified throwing and catching lesson for a first grade class+ (or the lesson ) was assigned a student with a specific disabilit* and had to "odif* the lesson in order to include hi" during the lesson+ Throughout the lesson plan ) highlighted an* acco""odations or special instructions ) "ade for the student+

) believe this artifact best aligns with #tandard ' !iversit*: the teacher understands how pupils differ in their approaches to learning and the barriers that i"pede learning and can adapt instruction to "eet the diverse needs of pupils- including those with disabilities and exceptionalities+ ) feel that these artifact best align with standard ' because the* show a variet* of wa*s to involve students in different tasks depending on their own abilit* level+ The* also show how different students with disabilities "a* need specific instruction or ph*sical assistants with depending on their abilit* level and how to plan for that during *our class+ Through these artifacts ) have been able to show "* knowledge of different disabilities and how to plan and create a safe and positive learning environ"ent to engage the" in learning+ ) have also shown "* abilit* to access and use extra infor"ation to further "* education of the needs of students with disabilities in ph*sical education+

After co"pleting this artifact ) have learned how i"portant it is to re"ain diverse while giving instruction in a class in order to insure that all students are able to gain and understand "ore fro" each lesson+ 2* adapting lessons for students with disabilities or for when students have trouble understanding the content ) will be able to beco"e a better teacher and create a "ore positive learning environ"ent for the students+ ) also feel that after co"pleting these artifacts ) now understand how i"portant it is to re"ain flexible well teaching+ 2* providing a variet* of different activities and instruction strategies to i"prove learning for all students ) will beco"e "ore effective in "* teaching+

These artifacts have showed "e how i"portant diversit* and re"aining flexible when providing instruction is for greater student learning and understanding+ 2* understanding that students learn differentl* and so"eti"es need special instruction or adaptations to re"ain safe or have success ) will be able to beco"e a "ore effective teacher and allow "* students to en0o* and succeed in the classroo"+ 2* creating this successful learning environ"ent the students will also en0o* co"ing to "* class and participating in activities which in turn will carr* into their own personal life creating a lifelong ph*sicall* active student+
