Forexample,thepublicmaybeinvitedtodevelopa newtechnology,carryoutadesigntask(alsoknownas communitybaseddesign[1] anddistributed participatorydesign),refineorcarryoutthestepsofan algorithm(seeHumanbasedcomputation),orhelp capture,systematizeoranalyzelargeamountsofdata (seealsocitizenscience).
