Students are given the choice of how to present the information in both the quiz and the commercial. Students will give their quiz to another student with an equal ability level. Teacher will have personalised instructions prepared for students that may need them.

LESSON DELIVERY (attach worksheets, examples, marking key, etc, as relevant)

Time 0mins Motivation and Introduction: 1. The lesson should commence with a quick multiple choice quiz that covers all the common information students covered in the previous lesson on natural disasters. 2. Inform students that for this lesson they are going to continue working towards their final project. And that today they are going to create a commercial and a quiz on natural disasters. Lesson Steps (Lesson content, structure, strategies & Key Questions): 3. Inform students that they are going to be creating a ten question quiz on one of the natural disasters they researched in the previous lesson. The questions should cover the main issues and components of the natural disaster. 4. The teacher should then allow the students to view a quiz the teacher had made previously on the proprofs quiz maker website using the smart board. 5. After the teacher has drawn attention to certain elements of the quiz such as the ability to attach pictures and Youtube videos to the quiz they should then demonstrate how the students can make their own. 6. The teacher than turns their attention to the short commercial. Students are informed that the commercial is to be on the same natural disaster they selected for the quiz. 7. The students are to use the application known as photostory. The teacher will allow the students to view an awareness commercial the teacher had created on photostory previously as a demonstration of what the students could do. 8. The teacher than goes through all the elements of the application such as how to add photos and text, and how to add effects to their commercial. 9. The students are informed that the commercial should clearly outline the environmental and disastrous effects of the natural disasters. 10. The students are reminded that they already have the information they need to complete these tasks, and this is the research they did in the previous lesson that they turned into a mind map. 11. Students are then instructed to complete the activities on their computer. The activities should be summarised on the board to serve as a reminder. 12. Once the students have completed the first task- creating the quizResources/References Smart board/ interactive whiteboard. Review quiz.

Students return to their seats and get their books out to prepare for the next scheduled lesson. Assessment: (Were the lesson objectives met? How will these be judged?) Students will be assessed using the following checklist: The student demonstrated an understanding of the key components/concerns of a natural disaster through the production of a quiz on proprofs.
