Learning Area: science and geography. Strand/topic from the Australian Curriculum: Science- Earth and space sciences: Sudden geological changes or extreme weather conditions can affect Earths surface. (ACSSU096). Geography- geographical knowledge and understanding: Impact of bushfires of floods on environments and communities, and how people can respond. (ACHGK030).

Teachers Prior Preparation/Organisation: A short multiple choice questionnaire on the knowledge focused on in the previous natural disaster lesson. A quiz created on proprofs quiz creator. A short commercial created on photo story.
Students are given the choice of how to present the information in both the quiz and the commercial. Students will give their quiz to another student with an equal ability level. Teacher will have personalised instructions prepared for students that may need them.

they are to do another students quiz which can be accessed on the site. The quiz that the students do should be one thats from a student of the same academic ability. Lesson Closure. 13. Once the students have completed the second task- short commercial- they are to post the commercial onto their KidsBlog and view another students commercial. Transition: 14. Students return to their seats and get their books out to prepare for the next scheduled lesson. Assessment: (Were the lesson objectives met? How will these be judged?) Students will be assessed using the following checklist: The student demonstrated an understanding of the key components/concerns of a natural disaster through the production of a quiz on proprofs. (Objective 1). Students demonstrated an understanding of the disastrous effects of a natural disaster through creating a short awareness commercial on photostory. (Objective 2).
