Angelique Bolognese Reflection for March 25, 2014 Mathematics Lesson CRT Prep and Review

The mathematics lesson that I prepared worked rather well. All students were engaged along with participating in a student-to-student teaching process. Students were grouped in a high ability to low ability manner. By doing this I was able to avoid the we dont get this or the off task behavior. The majority of this lesson was students-teaching-students, which I feel is extremely beneficial for all students. The second stage of this lesson was rotations. Rotations happened after every two to three minutes depending upon the difficulty of the question presented. This worked splendidly for those students who just cant sit still for more than five minutes. This was accomplished by having students scoot to their next destination. Student work was assessed at the end of each rotation, students would quickly read over each others work and agree or disagree if they completed all the requirements. At the end of the lesson I collected and graded student work. Student work was assessed based on the number of correct answers, their reasoning, and neatness.
