On the 4/7/12 a site visit was conducted at Ararat Substation on the request of the Project Manager to investigate the feasibility of the existing transformer plinth if it is suitable for the New transformer or not as the one that was there had exploded . Also to check if there is a need for modification of the Plinth thereof. The Plinth area is in good condition and the size will be adequate , the bundwall behind the transformer will be extended due to the accommodate a different Transformer to be used at Ararat to the one that was there before .The existing foundations in the bund area will be demolished as they will be in the way of the cooler tank foundation . There were no major constrains on the project, only the pipe was too shallow as a result the pipe was clashing with trench for the cables. A cable rack will be used instead of the cable trench is this is a more viable solution for the cables . All the revised drawings were submitted to the Project Manager and there are no Milestones .
