Environmental Professionals NREP Code of Ethics

Because of the type of work that an environmental professional must fulfill, it is essential that the creeds and codes of conduct be stipulated where any and all are welcome to see it. Therefore, the Code of Ethical Practice of the National Re istry of Environmental Professionals !NREP" is set forth.

#$ERE%&, the oal of an Environmental Professional or 'ana er is to be of the hi hest moral principles in providin knowled eable decisions relatin to the plannin and mana ement of environmental activities in which industry, overnment, and the public may place their complete confidence. T$ERE()RE, this Code of Ethical Practice shall overn the professional activities of NREP certificants and re istrants*

To practice only in those areas of environmental science, safety, health, or technolo y in which professional competence has been attained+ To embla,on documents with the NREP seal, name, or initials only when such documents are complete and contain only your work or work done under your personal, direct supervision and for which you can attest that all information is true and complete+ To take all appropriate measures to prevent any conflict of interest that could compromise the plannin and mana ement of environmental activities+ To perform assi ned or contracted environmental plannin and mana ement duties always in a professional manner that is respectful of laws and re ulations and the needs and concerns of others+ To use the best principles of environmental science, health, safety, and technolo y in plannin and mana ement to protect and enhance environmental -uality+ To cooperate with all levels of overnment in the furtherance and development of appropriate public policies supportive of environmental -uality, occupational health and safety+ To comply with applicable environmental -uality, occupational health and safety, and product safety laws and re ulations+ To mana e facilities in a manner to protect health and safety of employees and of individuals in surroundin communities+ To fully disclose in writin to employers.clients all known positive and ne ative impacts to the environment of assi ned activities, duties and.or responsibilities+

To refrain from usin the name of the National Re istry of Environmental Professionals or its seal in any activity not previously approved by the Board of /irectors.
