His uni6ue combinations of tech and traditional folk forms confound electronic music sub-genres and continue to garner critical acclaim and a gro)ing follo)ing. 1ur double bill on the &th April features eclectic musician-makers Thomas Trua% an Sarah Angliss. Thomas fronts a band of fantastical inventions headed b* the Hornicator 7 a chimera instrument comprised of gramophone and guitar-strings. Hailed b* 8M9 as a genius and a recurring favourite of 0arvis ,ocker2s Sunda* Service$ he :oins the Stubnitz for the first date of his 34 tour. Tech savant and connoisseur of the uncann* Sarah Angliss is kno)n for her dreamlike performances$ inspired b* defunct machines and the hidden darkness of 9nglish folklore. She performs on theremin$ sa) and carillon accompanied b* her remarkable coterie of eerie robots. ,oncluding our first round of Tranceiver events is the trailblazing generative teckno pro:ect Algoave. -ance a)a* *our preconceptions about electronic music$ as the* compose the soundtrack to a good night out using real-time algorithms. The march of technolog* has caused huge changes in the )orld of music. As record sales fall a)a* and traditional models falter$ )e see a ne) t*pe of musician emerging7 )ho has turned the accessibilit* afforded b* ne) technologies to their o)n advantage$ redefining the art form as the* go. The emphasis is on live performance$ on ne) )a*s to interact )ith the audience$ and on re-imagining musical instruments themselves.
