Dear President Andrew Jackson,

I am writing this letter to you today, because I disagree with the Indian Removal Act. As Native
American citizens we want to be able to stay in the place we were born and in the place we grew
up. We want to be able to speak our language, and practice our written alphabet. We also wish to
practice our own religion, we have lived at peace in our land and we want it to remain that way.
We do not want to assimilate with white people. We helped and showed your people respect
when they arrived and we hope you do the same with us. I hope you take my letter in
consideration and do not approve the Indian Removal Act.

Sincerely,

Annette Mojica
