Parent Teacher Conference 4 years old Childs Initials: BP Teacher: Mrs Searls Date: Monday March 10th, 2014

Date of Birth: September 4th, 2008 Intellectual: BP is able to recognize 26 upper and lower case letters with all its sound. Shes working very hard. She recognizes the numbers 1 to 10 and able to demonstrate 1 to 1 correspondence. She recognizes four shapes and all of her colors. She began an assessment for sorting by color then we moved on our assessment for sorting by shape because she was doing so well. I have administered the ASQ-3 and in the area of communication BK scored 30/60 which indicates that she needs support outside of the classroom as well as additional monitoring inside of the classroom. She had a difficulty repeating three unrelated directions for example I asked her Clap your hands, walk to the door, and sit down, she didnt do the first part of the direction. Social Emotional: BP can have positive interactions with other students in the classroom but her preferred type of play is parallel rather than co-play. There are times she had a hard time to share with her friend. I encourage her and a friend to use the solution box to solve it and sometime can help. She can dress and undress herself including buttoning medium size buttons and zipping front zippers. She goes to the bathroom by herself but once in a while she has accident because she too busy playing.

Work Habits: BK has many good qualities and at times can obey right away to do her work. Unfortunately BP struggles with transitions sometimes by moving away from play time. Sometimes she refuses to do her work job at the table she told me it will take too long. I reminded her when Im ready for her to work then she can come to w ork with me.

Transitions can be difficult for BP as well in the beginning of the school year when I will blow the whistle in the playground and give the students directions. BP will move from one toy to another outside before she comes to the sink. BP has had tantrums since beginning school this year. The tantrums have decreased in intensity and length since the first day of school.

Language: BP was telling her friend about her tooth My tooth, when I was playing at the mall, it was black and fell out I had three toothes out. When she was talking about this situation already happened she didnt use words the end -ed, such as played. She struggled about comparison words such as heavier, stronger, or short I asked her A car is big, but a bus is (her answer) is medium; A cat is heavy, but a man is (her answer) big. She speaks clearly but sometimes in our conversations can be two different topics to discuss at one time. I have administered the phonemic awareness inventory. For level 1, category 1, she said yes for each question. The syllable counting was a little hard for her, the couple of word are long but were working on that each day in our circle time. Gross Motor: I have observed BP swing on the swing; use a bike including the large bike where she gives a friend a ride, monkey bar and slide. I have observed BP using the scooters and the zip line successfully as well. I have watched her complete all activities for the gross motor for the ASQ-3 for a 60 month student, scoring 60/60. BP exhibit large motor skills in PE program. She exhibit body coordination on the playground. Fine Motor: I have observed BP use pencil grip so well she even help her friend to hold the pencil with three fingers as her. She cuts very well with scissors and ripping papers with her fingers was excellent activity for her.

Overall Progress: BP improving these skills so well compare to the beginning of the school year when she refused to work and has had tantrums. She is speaking more or using her words to express herself when situations occur with her friends. She feels so comfortable in her environment. She doesnt like changes when we had an early release. BP is participating so well in our circle time. Most of the time she can explain the story to the class.
