NASPE Standards Addressed in this Lesson:

Standard 2 ~ The physically literate individual applies knowledge of concepts, principles, strategies and tactics related to movement and performance. Standard 4 ~ The physically literate individual exhibits responsible personal and social behavior that respects self and others.

Cognitive Objectives for this Lesson:

C1: (NASPE Standard #2) TSWD understanding of the process of knocking an arrow, raising on target, and firing on target by being able to show those steps with or without having an arrow hit the target.

Pre-requisite Skills or Knowledge Needed for Success in this Lesson:

Understanding of trajectory

Adaptations and/or Extensions for this Lesson:

a.) Adaptations: If students are struggling, they may use a recurve bow instead of the compound bow. b.) Extensions: Students can assist other students who may be struggling

Management Issues for this Lesson:

Use the following cues: Bring it in, Address the Target, Pick Up Your Bow, Nock your arrow, Raise on Target, Fire at Will, Bows Down, Retrieve Your Arrows

Safety Issues for this Lesson:

Stay Behind the Shooting Line at ALL Times remind students that we must always stay behind the shooting line at all times Respect others encourage others, work together, have fun!
