Marinelle C. Bulos Advanced English Grammar Wed/Sun, 8:30 a.m. 12:30 p.m. Who Moved My Cheese?

? by Alan Lightman I can relate to the character of Haw. After getting used into having the cheese they needed regularly without any hardship on their part on finding for it, Haw and Hem became relax. Both of them expected that the supply of the cheese would not end. However, a change happened, one morning they arrived at the station only to found out that there are no longer cheese. At first, Haw refused to accept the change that had happened. He let himself to be influenced by Hem in just staying in the same place and wait for the cheese to appear again. He was shock by what had transpired. He feared leaving the station. It took him some time before realizing that he had to make a move and not just depend on waiting for the cheese to be seen again. He laughed at his folly then he let it go and later on decided to look for cheese within the maze, just like what they used to do before they discovered the cheese in Station C. Though not exactly the same as what had happened to Haw in the short story, I also had the same problem of facing the change I am always experiencing every semester of my studying in law school. The higher the year level, the more effort you needed to exert. You cannot be contented on just doing the same routine of studying. As one of my former professors says, you should not be boastful and be relax. We students should always bear in mind that there is always a need for improvement. Every year level, I complain how hard it is to achieve the standards set by different professors. I always feared that I may not be able to pass the subject. However, just like Haw, I have learned to laugh at my follies and move quickly on doing what I have to do in order to achieve my goal. I may be sad or shock in the beginning but after that I will go on and work hard to get what I want.
