Please welcome Russ and Wendy Hoffman at 10519 Buccaneer Point. They are really excited to be living in our lake community and intend to take full advantage of the lake view and water activities! Their kids and grandchildren will be frequent visitors to the neighborhood. Russ and Wendy moved in right before the Fourth of July, so they were here in time to see the Annual Parade! They have three pets: Dallas, a black Lab; Max, a Papillon; and Jimmy, a parrot.
After the Costume Contest, feast on pizza and drinks before venturing into the Haunted Forest for a scary hayride with ghouls and vampires. Listen to a ghost story, roast marshmallows, and make smores. Guests welcome, too! See you there, if you dare!
City officials in The Colony have been contacted to inspect and give us a date for repairs due to the dangerous road conditions of Boyd Road.

At the June members meeting, the board announced plans to go to individual trash billing in 2012. Waste Management (WM) charges $1,300 to $1,500 per month, which fluctuates due to gas costs. I negotiated with WM for a lower fixed rate for 2011 if we prepaid in full. When I renegotiate the WM 2012 rate, it will be for 124 homes now receiving service in 2011. This will include the options of either: individual quarterly billing by WM directly for a slightly higher price than if paid collectively individual annual billing for the entire year All residents are still welcome to participate in the group trash savings without HOA membership requirements. We will send out HOA members invoices in November, which will be due before January 1, 2012. Please contact us at board@wynnwoodhaven.org for comments, or check www. wynnwoodhaven.org for more information.
Four-wheelers and golf carts are trespassing by crossing several homeowners and vacant lot properties to access the lake, causing ruts in the dirt and grass. It is against Corps regulations for any motorized vehicles (motorcycles, four-wheelers, golf carts, utility vehicles, etc.) to drive on government land, to drive golf carts on our streets without license plates, and to drive at night without lights. Please refrain from driving onto any neighbors property, even vacant lots, without first obtaining their permission. Tickets may be issued by Texas game wardens, the Denton County Sheriff, or other law enforcement officers for driving on Corps land, trespassing, or for unregistered vehicles on roads.
The Fourth of July parade was fabulous this year with 13 entries including creative floats, decorated gold carts, bike riders, etc. The parade was led in grand style by Parade Marshall Bill Lewallen in his 1940s Ford tractor. The caboose was Lois Coffin with her granddaughter in the Don Coffin Memorial Caboose spot, honoring Don, founder of our July Fourth parade. Fireman Paul Grayson provided a vintage fire truck. Paul tells us the fire truck will return next year, perhaps starting another Wynnwood Haven Estates tradition!
July: Dinner Night Out was at Amores Restaurant in The Colony on July 14. There were 40 neighbors in attendance. We celebrated Joyce Schumanns birthday with singing and a birthday cake.
