My Inquiry Topic: My topic is about how the drinking age is 21 but we are legally adults at the age of 18.

We vote at 18, we live on our own at 18 at college, we can get married and shipped off to war to die for our country at 18 but we cannot drink. Responses:
Why is the drinking age different in other countries? Is it because at 21, students are almost done with college? How young are the drinking ages in other countries? What are the effects of alcohol on younger vs. older people? Would the drinking age at 18 affect the amount of alcohol spread through high school? Why is the drinking and smoking age different? How much do 18 year olds really know about politics? Hell yeah! Let us drink! Drinking citations for minors is a waste of time and causes unneeded trouble for college students trying to have a good time. It has to do with a high-ranking congresswomen who in the 90s (?) was also an avid member of MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Driving) and made a piece of legislation saying that states do not get federal transportation/roadway funding if their drinking age is below 21. This is up to the states, but no state doesnt want govt funding so this forces all states to have this age set.
