A Workshop on Breathing, Relaxation & Chair Yoga with Sandra Pereira of Pear Tree Yoga in Bearsden on the Saturday

10th May 2014 from 2 to 4 pm

The Workshop: Sandras practical workshop is an introduction on how to use Hatha Yoga to relax ourselves. Sandra will take you through commonly used relaxation & breathing techniques designed to let the symptoms of stress to go away. Some gentle yoga chair exercises will also be taught. As a result at the end of the workshop, you may experience a more relaxed, refreshed body & mind. All levels are most welcome! Workshops Summary: on the Saturday 10th May 2014, a 1.30 hour practice, a small group of up to 12 people, a range of breathing, relaxation techniques, and chair exercises. Tea, coffee and cookies will be offered. Fees: 7 (booked in advance), 8 (paid on the day of the workshop). The Loch Kilmardinny in Bearsden: The Loch is just across the Kilmardinny Arts Centre and is a haven for a variety of wild life species and vegetation. Recently Iain Chalmers has added interest with original carvings from fallen trees over the last few years because of the rough weather. Fans of the Gruffalo (a popular Julia Donaldsons children book) will find familiar friends on the carvings.

Sandra Pereiras Yoga Path: Sandras main interest in Hatha Yoga is for guiding & supporting children and people for practising safe and remedial Yoga. She has been a Yoga Teacher since 2012 and is the founder of the Pear Tree Yoga (www.peartreeyoga.weebly.com) in Bearsden, Glasgow. Once a week Sandra teaches Yoga classes to the Golden Jubilee National Hospital Staff in Clydebank (Yoga Not for Profit). Twice a week she teaches privately one-on-one sessions in Bearsden. Her slow & gentle style focuses on the awareness of the breath, relaxation and physical exercises. As a result, her clients experience the benefit of peaceful minds & relaxed bodies that are unified using the breath as the main link. Sandra started her Yoga Path in Perth, WA Australia in 2006 when she was pregnant of her only child. She was a therapeutic Yoga student of Jullan at the Y Yoga Studio. In 2010, Sandra moved to Glasgow and resumed her practise with Marit at the White Lotus Yoga. In 2012 Sandra successfully completed the 200 Hour UK Yoga Teaching Qualification under the guidance of Brenda at the Chillout Yoga in Stirlingshire. Prior to become a Yoga Teacher, Sandra was working as a Senior Biostatistician and Statistician for two universities in Brazil and two universities in Australia. Her academic qualifications are Graduate Diploma in Maths Education, MSc in Statistics and PhD in Applied Statistics.
