Dear Families, My name is Michelle Millage and I have the privilege of being the student teacher in Ms.

Gibbs science classroom. I am currently a senior Secondary Education major at Drake University with endorsements in All Science and Biology. My passion for helping youth and learning science brought me to a career in education during my time at Drake. As I transition into teaching my ambition is to guide learning of science concepts while helping students become better critical thinkers, collaborators, and communicators. I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know all of the 7 th grade science students over the past few weeks. It has been rewarding to engage in science investigations with all of these great kids. I look forward to the many adventures we will have until the end of the semester. As a part of my professional growth I would like to videotape myself teaching. This will enable me to more effectively evaluate my teaching and improve my skills. It will only be seen by Ms. Gibb and I. It will also be deleted after viewing. I will only videotape myself occasionally throughout the semester. I wanted to inform you so that you are aware and are given opportunity to voice concerns.
