Differentially Permeable Membranes Hypothesis

1. Sodium Sulphate passes through the dialysis tube. 2. Sodium Chloride will pass through the dialysis tube. 3. Aceto Orcerin will not pass through, stays inside. 4. Starch will not pass through, stays inside the tube

Hypothesis

Results

Sodium Sulphate passes through the dialysis tube.

There were found inside the tube sulphate ions.

Sodium Chloride will pass through the dialysis tube.

There were Chloride ions present.

Aceto-Ocerin will not pass through the dialysis tube.

On a scale from 1-10 there was about 4 which had passed through, which means some did pass. There were no signs of starch passing through the dialysis tube.

Starch will not pass through.

Conclusion
After we collected our results we found out that 3 out of 4 of the hypothesis were true, sulphate ions, chloride ions and starch were correct compared with our hypothesis. The only hypothesis we did not get right was acetoocerin not passing through, in our results there were signs of the pinkish colour outside the dialysis tube.
