This formative assessment was where I had to analyze the values and limitations of the silent lm October (1928) directed by Sergei Eisenstein and other elements to evaluate how useful the lm is as a source to historians studying the 1917 Russian Revolution. This task allowed me to familiarize the skill on how to analyze sources, in this case, lms through commenting on the sources purpose, values and limitations. Before completing this task, I had very little knowledge regarding the Russian Revolution and didnt even know the existence of the silent lm October, hence, I had no idea how useful the lm would be to historians studying the 1917 Russian Revolution. However, because of all the time I had spent on researching for this task, I gained a lot of knowledge regarding to what extent was the lm October useful to historians studying the 1917 Russian Revolution. I believe I have portrayed the learner prole trait inquirer during this task because I kept asking myself the research question (how useful is the lm October by Sergei Eisenstein to historians studying the 1917 Russian Revolution?) while I was researching to make sure my information was responding to the research question. Also, I kept asking myself what the values and limitations of the silent lm as a source was, whether the lm is a reliable source, and many more guiding questions. I believe I am an inquirer because I was curious about how useful the lm October was to historians, so I had completed further research to fulll my curiosity. Furthermore, this task also shows my passion for learning because I had used many different types of sources to gather the information regarding the lm. Using a wide range of sources shows that I am willing to take the time to learn and that I was hoping to get the most accurate and informative information accessible. Overall, this task has allowed me to learn how to analyze sources and justify the usefulness of sources. Lastly, I believe that I have been an inquirer as I constantly asked myself questions throughout the process of researching for this task, I showed a sense of curiosity which led to the researching of this task, I showed my love of learning by taking the time to gather information from many different sources in hope to get the most accurate and informative information for the task. Ultimately, I was an inquirer because I had analyzed each source to nd out which sources are reliable and may aid my research tasks in my future years of learning.
