Abstrak

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana karakter utama
dari novel ife !f Pi, da"at bertahan hidu" di tengah lautan dan bagaimana
karakter tersebut da"at menguasai keadaan #ang terjadi "adan#a. Dan juga
"enelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana sika" karakter utama jika
di lihat dari as"ek "sikologi karakter tersebut.
Metode #ang di"akai oleh "enulis dalam "enelitian ini adalah deskri"tif
kualitatif, dengan memakai "endekatan "sikologi hal ini karena data #ang di
ambil dari "enelitian ini berasal dari kesim"ulan tentang fenomena #ang terjadi
ke"ada karakter utama di dalam novel ini.
Berdasarkan dari hasil analisis "enulis da"at men#im"ulkan bah$a
as"ek "endekatan "sikologi sangat "enting untuk di a"likasikan "ada
"enelitian #ang berhubungan dengan karakter tokoh utama dalam suatu novel
#ang men#angkut %ara bertahan hidu" seseorang dalam berbagai keadaan.

&his stud# aims to determine ho$ the main %hara%ter of the novel ife !f Pi ,

ha""ened to him . And this stud# also aims to determine the main %hara%ter 's
attitude in vie$ of the "s#%holog# of the %hara%ter .
&he method used b# the $riter in this stud# is (ualitative deskri"tive the use of
"s#%holog# in this a""roa%h is be%ause the data taken from the novel. &he
