Lesson 3 INSTRUCTIONAL OBJECTIVES/ STUDENT OUTCOMES 1. Students will recall Helen Kellers accomplishments. 2. Students will identify Helen Kellers contribution to our society. 3. Students will use one of Helen Kellers accomplishments in a role play writing exercise. DIFFERENTIATED INSTRUCTION/ ADAPTATIONS/ INTERVENTIONS I will use visual aids to benefit the visual learners in my classroom. I will also use hands on activities to help retain the attention of the kinesthetic learners. The classroom discussions will benefit the auditory learners. PROCEDURES: I will introduce the lesson and describe the lessons activities
PROCEDURES: Body & Transitions I will go over the PowerPoint (describing Helen Kellers accomplishments and contribution to society) Class Discussion/review of PowerPoint I will pass out the writing activity worksheets I will go over the instructions for the writing assignment I will walk around the room, provide assistance and monitor progress The students will complete the worksheet
PROCEDURES: Closure After the students are finished I will ask if anyone wants to share their response to the class. I will collect the worksheets. ASSESSMENT: Diagnostic The class discussion prior to the writing activity will serve as the Diagnostic assessment

EXTENDED ACTIVITIES If Student Finishes Early: They will look over their writing exercise, making sure they used complete sentences. If Lesson Finishes Early: The students will get into groups and summarize why they feel Helen Keller helped our society. Once they have compiled their answers they will share with the rest of the class. If Technology Fails: I will have the power point printed out and I will transfer the key points to the board.
