P r o p u l s i o n New LNG Carrier for Gaz de France The worlds first large size LNG vessel to be powered by electric propulsion is being built by Chantiers de lAtlantique of the ALSTOM group for Gaz de France. This 153,500 m 3 vessel, with the largest capacity of any LNG vessel to-date, will be delivered in October, 2005. This highly advanced and trendsetting vessel will utilize electric propulsion in combination with dual fuel engines to achieve extremely efficient, safe and ecological propulsion.
