To Whom It May Concern;

It is a pleasure to write a letter of recommendation for Iliana Hernandez. Iliana is a student in my Health and Family
Living class at Merced High School. I have known her since January 2013. As a student, Iliana has maintained a good
attendance record. She is attentive and follows directions well. She completes all of her assignments on time. She works
well on both individual and group projects, working effectively and cooperatively with fellow students.

Iliana carries herself with confidence and a positive attitude. She currently has a 3.75 GPA. She has been in upper level,
honors/AP classes throughout high school. She is in the top 7% of her senior class of over 550 students.

Iliana has been a Link Crew member for the last two years. This program is designed to assist incoming freshman to
acclimate to the high school experience. Iliana is a positive role model for the underclassmen at Merced High. She was in
MEChA during her sophomore and junior years. MECha is a student led organization empowering young Latin students to
pursue higher education. She was also in Key Club during her freshman and sophomore years. Key Club is a student-led
organization whose goal is to teach leadership through helping. She has been a CSF member for six of the last seven
semesters, a California scholarship institution that emphasizes high standards of scholarship and community service for
high school students.

Iliana has accumulated approximately 290 hours of community service. The majority of her hours were completed at the
Parents Program at Livingston High School. In the past two years as a Link Crew member she has participated in
supporting her fellow classmates in numerous school events including a variety of athletics.

Iliana ultimately plans on pursuing a career in law. She wants to open her own law firm. She has applied at numerous
CSUs and UCs where she plans on pursuing a Bachelors degree in psychology. Iliana will be the first in her family to
attend college. She comes from a family with strong values and they place great emphasis on her education. Iliana
carries herself with confidence and a positive attitude. I sincerely believe she has the motivation and determination to be a
successful college student.
Iliana is sincere and honest, operating with integrity in her personal as well as academic life. She has set goals for her
future. She is a kind and compassionate young lady. I believe she will succeed in her future as she pursues her education
