Overview of key planned learning experiences Key Assessment Tools & Strategies Over the four sessions, we are hoping that the children engage with the story and characters enough to be able to retell the story at the conclusion of the program. The sock puppets, masks and magnetic board provide numerous experiences and opportunities to retell the story. We hope to enhance the childrens self-confidence to participate in the story. Our activities have a strong focus on oral language, communication skills and creativity and imagination. Our other activities including the listening post, puzzle and barrier games assist in engaging the children with the characters and aspects of literacy, particularly oral language. Overview of assessment of childrens learning: The main aspect of assessment will be Learning Stories which will be recorded by using photographs and note taking. Other assessment tools will include work samples, observations and voice recorded child self- assessment.
Assessment of teaching: After each session, we will discuss key observations made, revisit notes taken during the session and reflect on the overall success of the session looking at positives, negatives and any improvements that could be made.
