Context of the lesson

This is the fourth lesson in Communications & Collaborations unit.

Teaching goal

The overall aim of the lesson is to teach the main functions in WordPress to change the blogs format and
design.

Learning objectives

By the end of the lesson students will be able to know:-
- How to change the blogs appearance like: theme, background and custom the design.
- How to add new post.
- How to add new page.


Assumptions about prior learning

I assume that some students in this lesson know:-
- How to change the theme.
- How to add post but without order.


Anticipated problems and possible solutions (Mention problems and solutions related to management, tasks
or students e.g


Problem:
- Some learners will find it difficult to learn by their own
- Internet access
- Sometime the domain of WordPress maintains the website and closes it few days.

Solution:
- Let students work in group and give them some website or key words in YouTube that will help and
scaffold them to create creative blog.
- Create hardcopy like handout of the lesson
- Try to find out another website that user can create blog in it

Personal focus for this lesson

- Eye contact
- Going around the class (monitoring).

- Let the students in group to re-design the cover
page of the note. The purpose of this activity is
to let engage them that the lesson will be about
changing the blog appearance and why it is
important.

separately and the first group who finish will
show the other groups.

Reflection

In 22

April 2013, I continue teaching grade 10 WordPress. My aims at the end of the
lesson that students will be able to know how to change the blogs appearance like:
theme, background and custom the design. Moreover, they will know how to add new
post and trash it. In addition, they will know how to add new page and make it in
order. I think that I achieve most of my lesson objective. The students like the way of
introducing the lesson when I let them to re-design the cover page of the notebook
and they are really enjoy it because I link the importance of the appearance with their
real life. Moreover, they feel very excited when I give them the challenging task
without any help from me. I just give them a keyword in YouTube and another
support website to help them to do the task. However, I do not go in depth in the
appearance because of the time problem and changing the classes that happen in this
day. In the next class, I will print out support handout with the steps for the students
because it will help them to work with their project later. I think that it is very
effective way to teach the new generation by scaffolding them only and try to
discover their abilities and let them improve it.
