The artifact I chose to demonstrate Standard 8: Collaborative Relationships was a math

lesson intended for a small group of kindergarten/first grade students. This lesson was
composed by collaborative efforts from myself and two of my peers. Creating this lesson
as well as delivering the instruction was a group effort from me and two other students in
a professional education class. Through this process I was able to experience working on
a professional team with multiple members seeking the same end goal.

This particular artifact represents Knowledge Indicator C as this artifact entailed a
collective effort to plan, prepare, and deliver a thoughtful and detailed lesson.
Furthermore, my team and I designed this particular lesson with general goals that
addressed standards to meet the needs of all the students involved. My collaborative
lesson plan also highlights Performance Indicator B as the process to construct this lesson
required thoughtful discussion and consideration of student needs from all team members
involved. Furthermore, by coming to an outlined decision of the lesson process, my team
members and I are able to illustrate our ability to make group decisions that speak to
common goals.

Working collaboratively with others in order to construct an instructional delivery plan
aids in my growth and development as a novice teacher because this gives me valuable
experience on working with others. As a teacher we have to interact and work
cooperatively with multiple families, professionals, and staff; for this reason, having
experience doing so helps be to be better prepared for my future as a teacher.
