Lesson #__ Day 3

Purpose: Awareness/knowledge/reflection on the 7 dimensions of wellness.

Objective(s)/Benchmark:
TSWBAT understand and define their state/being of wellness.
TSWBAT reflect on the 7 dimensions of wellness, and be able to share ideas for improvements.

Time:
50 minute lesson

Materials:
Wellness websites, Wellness questionnaire, Wellness examples.

Preparation:

day of 7 dimensions of wellness, as a teacher it will be important to have looked through the
websites the students will be directed to.

Facilitating the Lesson/Activity

Time: Step by Step Lesson Design: Resources Needed:
0-10 Class will start with asset sheet
and signed, KBG sheet turned in.
Then we will go in to an overview
of the 7 dimensions of wellness
on the UCR webpage.

10-18 Students will look through
different university sites at the
wellness pages.
IPad cart or laptop cart
18-30 A wellness questionnaire will be
filled out to take inventory on
each individuals
Questionnaire
30-35 After the students go through
their own dimensions of wellness
they will reflect in the journal
how they rank and how they feel
and what they could change to
improve.
Journals
35-45 After the students have worked
with the 7 dimensions and looked
at their own, we will look at some
fake scores and come up with
ways these fake scores could be
improved.
Fake persons wellness surveys
45-50 Ending with a simple review over
the 7 dimensions, and any
questions.


Checking for Understanding:
Students will journal and reflect on their own state of wellness.

Formative/Authentic Assessment:

Students will be assessed on completion of the wellness questionnaire, and feedback from
answering questions to improve our made up charters state of wellness.

Self Reflection:
(Teacher reflection of lesson after lesson is delivered to maintain or improve lesson.)
