There is one provider and 6 children when I was there the first time and the second had 5 children with
one provider. While I was there the kids behavior did change as they went from one room to another.
It really depended on what they were doing. When they went into the rest area with the books and
pillows they seem to be quiet and doing their own thing. When they moved on to the car and truck
boxes they seem to be load and wanting to race each other. I think them all needed reminders at one
time or another while I was there. Some of the equipment was used appropriately. There was a 15
month old that was consistently trying to take the books and rip the pages. Im not really sure there is a
way to avoid that when there is such a large age range between the kids. She just kept trying to redirect
him. She had a cute activity with snow balls melting on a tray we talked about after we came in from
outside. There was an entry way where the parents stood while they were waiting for their children.
Some of the boxes were labeled. The playdou had a label and the arts and crafts box had labels. The
animals and dinosaurs had labels. I really liked how she announced that its lunch time and the kids
started to line up at the sink in the bathroom to wash their hands. When they were done eating the also
threw away their own plates and went directly to the bathroom to wash their hands and faces. They
knew the routines and followed them.
