Karthik has been studying in Nagercoil for the last three years, since his father left for oman, where he
had a job with an engineering projects company based in salalah, taking care of major infrastructure
projects in the city. 2013 has been a special year for Karthik, his father Sundaram had promised to take
him to Salalah, when he came for annual holidays last year

This year the monsoon arrived on time to south India and nagercoil had been getting heavy down pour
from early June,

After a three hours drive from home to the Trivandrum airport, and couple of hours for check-in,
security and waiting, Karthik boarded the air india express flight from Trivandrum to salalah, along with
his mother agalya and sisters sharmila and gowri, the flight to salalah in august was quite free, as the
schools at india and oman had already started and all the families have settled at their children place of
education. They could occupy two rows with two free seats besides. All the three kids had taken a week
off from the schools to get a view of the khareef season in salalah, which is a special climatic condition in
this region.

A little over three hours of the flying from Trivandrum the flight was preparing to land in salalah, the
seat belt signs were already on, and karthik, who was on the window seat behind
