It is a matter of general practice that the sports committee convenor carries around a bag with
him/her which has the money required for expenditures during spiritus along with the bills for
various purchases made. I regret to inform you that unfortunately I lost the bag during spiritus
2013 which had a lot of bills along with some money. I am making of list of the bills lost
from memory:
1. Generator Rs. 10000
2. Transport Rs. 82000
3. Gaming Rs. 12000
4. Tug of War Rope Rs. 9000
5. Bhairav (Samosa & Tea for Opening Ceremony) Rs. 5000
6. Canteen Bill Rs. 3000
7. Flex Design Rs. 7500
8. Sound Rs. 9000
9. Canister Rs. 2000
10. Squash Rs. 6000
11. Shuttle Cocks Rs. 19500
12. Tarps Rs. 10000
13. Medals and Trophies Rs. 30000
14. Medikits Rs. 5000
15. Buckets, Mugs and phenyl etc: Rs. 5000
Total value of bills (approximate): Rs. 2,15,000
Expenditures for which a bill could not have been submitted:
1. Referees: Rs. 40,000
2. Miscellaneous: Rs. 25,000
Total: Rs. 2,80,000
I would like to bring to your notice that Spiritus 2013 was the biggest Spiritus so far in terms
of events conducted and participation. In spite of this being the biggest Spiritus, increased
inflation and inclusion of athletics (which alone cost us around Rs. 20,000) we have managed
to conduct this edition of Spiritus within Rs. 7,37,510 which is in fact slightly less than the
previous two years expenditure during Spiritus.
Thus there is no possible scope for misappropriation of any funds and the discrepancy in the
accounts is due to my bonafide mistake. Thus I request you to please pardon me.
