Course Description: +n this class students will de,elo- an understanding o. o,erall
health and wellness. To-ics include: nutrition/ e'ercise/ drug and alcohol a0use/ -ersonal
health and wellness/ se'ual education/ mental and emotional health/ and -u0lic and
en,ironmental health. Tests/ research -a-ers/ and -ro1ects will all 0e included in the
teaching methods. 23 the com-letion o. this course students will understand the 0ene.its
o. a health3 li.est3le and ha,e s4ills to incor-orate it into their e,er3da3 li,es.
Class Format: Most classes throughout the wee4 will 0e in the classroom to address
ma1or health com-onents. Students will also 0e e'-ected to -artici-ate in -h3sical
acti,ities to accom-an3 material taught 03 a num0er o. di..erent methods. 5ectures/
discussions/ tests/ research -a-ers/ and -ro1ects will all 0e included in the teaching
methods
Materials: Students will 0e e'-ected to 0e -re-ared .or class everyday6 This will include
a writing utensil/ note0oo47.older/ and an3 other materials re8uested 03 the teacher. On
-h3sical acti,it3 da3s students will 0e e'-ected to dressed and -re-ared in an a--ro-riate
manner. The school district is now im-lementing a 29O: !0ring 3our own de,ice#
-olic3 which will directl3 a..ect class/ as it is suggested each students has a de,ice to use.
