Ec/No Vs RSCP Overview

Introduction
This chart is to confirm the in-building system has
good dominance. Using this graph provides a quick
reference to the interference, and RSCP power.
.

Application
The following example shows a system that has poor
RSCP levels. It is easy to see that this system does
not suffer from severe interference as the Ec/No is
good when RSCP is low (-95dBm). The RSCP may
not meet KPI, but the system is showing that it is
probably the only serving cell in the area.

In the next example, it is shown that the dominance is
not good as the RSCP gets below -80dBm. This
shows that the RSCP is needed to be above -80dBm
to get a dominant system.

In the next example, we demonstrate a perfect
system. This system has good coverage and good
dominance.

Conclusion

Using this chart in a walk testing report gives the
reader a quick preview of any Interference issues
without reading into separate bar charts or trying to
decipher snail trail plots. It also shows the reader if
the test meets the KPI for RSCP and Ec/No.
For pre-design testing, this chart shows the minimum
RSCP design requirement.

Entelecom Statement
Entelecom is always trying to improve report
readability to save our customers time in testing
analysis. This is one such chart which can be added to
a Nemo or TEMS report to help quickly find if the
systems meets the network KPI.
