Key Information: In the last lesson, we learned all about modal verbs like would, should, and could. Frequently, we pair these verbs with the word have. Check out the example below: I wish I would have saved room for dessert.
Sometimes to make things easier and more informal, we use a contraction like in the next example. I wish I wouldve saved room for dessert.
If you say the above sentence aloud, really fast doesnt it sound a little bit like I wish I would of saved room for dessert? Because were so used to speaking informally and using contractions things that may sound normal to us when we say them aloud are actually incorrect when we write them.
