ALGEBRA CONNECTION AND PROOFS


Day 11
OBJECTIVE
Students will review key concepts that they have been learning during this unit.
Students will also look through classmates boards and find helpful information to
support independent learning habits.
STANDARDS
Common Core Content Standards:
Geometry: Congruence
10. Prove theorems about triangles. Theorems include: measures of interior angles of a
triangle sum to 180; base angles of isosceles triangles are congruent; the segment
joining midpoints of two sides of a triangle is parallel to the third side and half the
length; the medians of a triangle meet at a point; the altitudes of a triangle meet at a
point.

PREPARATION
Students will use Quizlet to study concepts. The teacher should first create an
account on Quizlet where the students can submit their work automatically to the
teacher. It is also important to either prepare a new quiz for the class or find suitable
existing quizzes for students. The teacher should also prepare enough devices for
students to use during class time to take the Quizzes.
GUIDED INSTRUCTION STUDENT WORK
Direct students to Quizlet.com and
specific quizzes they should complete.
Have students review flashcards.
Students are allowed to discuss
flashcards in groups.
Walk around the room to ensure that
students are studying and understand
how to use Quizlet.com
Students will take Quizzes after reviewing
flash cards.
Once students are finished reviewing
terms, direct them to take the quiz.
After students successfully complete a
quiz have them submit results for credit.
After students finish studying they will
browse Pinterest boards and find
information that will help them
understand the unit.
Students are free to repin from
classmates or other pinners.
Tell students that they must comment in
regards to why the pin is helpful and
what it helped them understand.
Students should review notecards along
with notes.
Students will take practice quizzes
Once students have achieved a passing
score on their quizzes they will submit
their scores to the teacher.
Students should review flashcards a long
with class notes and Pinterest boards.


Students will take the quiz or quizzes
assigned
Students will submit quiz results to the
teacher.
Students will repin and comment on four
pins. Comments should be about what
they learned or how the pin is helpful.
STUDENT PRODUCTS
Students will email the teacher an image of their scores on the quizzes showing that
they have completed all assigned quizzes.
