1) The document summarizes research into developing chewable tablet formulations using ginger extract with either ethyl cellulose or gelatin B as binding agents.
2) Tablets were prepared using ginger extract, Cab-O-Sil, sugar, magnesium stearate, talc, and either 1%, 2%, or 3% ethyl cellulose or gelatin B.
3) The results showed that both ethyl cellulose and gelatin B improved tablet hardness and erosion time, with tablets containing 2% or 3% gelatin exhibiting the highest hardness and longest erosion time.

Author : Sugiyartono Pengembangan Formulasi Tablet Hisap Ekstrak Jahe (Zingiber officinalis Roxb.) dengan Bahan Pengikat Etil Selulosa dan Gelatin B Abstrak : The purpose of this research is to compare the quality of the tablets using ethyl cellulose and gelatin B as binding agent. The research was carried out by comparing the quality of ginger chewable tablets using ethylcellulose 1%, 2% and 3% and gelatin B 1%, 2% and 3%. The tablets were prepared by compressing the extract of ginger (Zingiber officinalis Roxb.), Cab-O-Sil, Sugar, Magnesium Stearat , Talk, Ethyl-cellulose (1%. 2% and 3% as Formula I) and Gelatin (1 %. 2% and 3% as Formula II). Wet granulation was the method of choice. The result showed that ethylcellulose and gelatin as a binder improve the hardness and erosion time of tablets. Tablets using 2% and 3% gelatin have higher hardness and the longest erosion time compared to other formulas. Keyword : ginger chewable tablets, extract, hardness and erosion time. Page 1
