Electronic cloth take-up for weaving
machines
Through the effect of electronic adjustment for the pick density the retrofitting of older machines become
more and more interesting for our customers.


The control KAST 696 with a servo motor and a
servo driver functions as an electronic gear between
the weaving machine and the cloth take-up. The
reference number of revolutions is created by an
encoder which is installed on the control shaft. Thus
it is guaranteed that the cloth take up is in syn-
chronous operation also during pick finding and
levelling. It can be switched to 8 different pick densi-
ties. The programming of the cloth take up is made
by the own terminal.

Function

The cloth take up roller which is responsible for the
pick density of the fabric is normally driven by the
main motor of the weaving machine by means of
mechanical gear, main shaft and control shaft.




One revolution of the weaving machine produces the
pick density of the fabric by use of the mechanical
gears and appropriate diameter of the cloth take up
roller.
One revolution of the weaving machine corresponds
to one pick. This means that the control shaft in the
normal weaving process within one revolution moves
the fabric in the value of one pick forward. In case of
an electronic cloth take up the electronic takes over
the function of the mechanical gears and creates
with the conductance of the encoder on the control
shaft the necessary number of revolutions at the
cloth take up roller to achieve the required pick
density

The electronic cloth take up can be supplied
together with one or two synchronized electronic let-
off's.
