Standard Four

Educators today are faced with many issues from budget cuts to increased class
size, with that it is important for the instructional leader to mobilize the community so
that all resources can be utilized for the success of students.
As an educator interested in the achievement of all students, I am able to
demonstrate my ability to collaborate and respond to family needs through my SWOT
analysis. This analysis shows my ability to analyze need within the school and how the
community has the ability to meet those needs. Knowing the resources available to me
within the community will help with outreach, eld trips, and funding, all of which go
back to students.
Along with this analysis, within my teaching experience I have been able to
collaborate with local banks to raise funds for student eld trips. I have also
demonstrated my commitment to Standard Four by meeting and organizing parent
nights, attending student events, and nding resources to send home with students in
need.
Finally, this is an imperative quality to have within an instructional leader.
Adhering to this standard will not only help the leader grow but help students needs be
met.
