General Book Targets
I can read and understand books with many detailed episodes
I can read books with a different perspective than my own
I can figure out words with 3 or more syllables
I can read words when they are hyphenated across two lines
I can figure out how to read and understand technical words
I can figure out how to read and understand proper nouns
I can continue reading books to find resolutions to problems in the book
I can use context clues, prefixes and suffixes, and base words to figure out
the meaning of words

Targets about the Setting
I can talk about the setting and how it is important to the plot
I can talk about the relationship between the setting and the plot of a story

Targets about Summarizing
I can identify significant events in a book and tell how they are related to the
problem or the solution in a book
