THE PRIZE UNDER THE ROCK

On the road in front of his palace a king had his guards place a large
rock. Standing hidden, the king watched to see how passersby handled
the obstruction. Most travelers simply walked around it. A few tried to
roll the rock. But found it too difficult to dislodge. They gave up and
went on.
Eventually, a peasant pushing a cart full of vegetables stopped. He
put his full strength behind the stone and pushed. It didnt budge.
Undeterred, he pushed again and felt some movement. He pushed
again and again until he finally managed to move the rock out of the
path. When he started on his way again, he glanced down and saw a
leather bag, where the rock had been. He picked up the bag, opened it,
and discovered it was filled with gold coins. There was also a note from
the king. It said that anyone who found the bag could have the money.
The winners in life are those who work faithfully until the barriers to
fulfillment are removed. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the
crown of life (Revelation 2: 10, NRSV). (Copied)

A LIFE THAT COUNTS

Dr. Cecil Murray was once a
U.S. Air Force pilot. One day, he
was filling the role of intercept
officer in the jets rear seat when
the nose tank exploded just
before takeoff. The pilot got out of
the plane but was covered in
flames. Murrays cockpit cover
wouldnt open, but with a great
struggle, he was able to enlarge a
hole and crawl out. On the
ground, he saw the pilot
completely aflame. Murray rolled
the man over several times until
the flames were out.
Unfortunately, the pilot died from
the burns. That horrible
experience compelled Murray to
reevaluate his life. He now felt led
to live however God would direct
his life. Soon Murray resigned so
he could attend seminary. He
pastored the First African
Methodist Church for 27 years.
When something bad happens,
we dont immediately know how it
will shape our lives. But bad
events can change us for the
better, and help us help others.

Todays toy is the Crayon. God created people of
different color and languages to help us spread
throughout the world, but more often than not, we let
color divide us. In spite of our differences, we all share
the same Creator. God wants us to love our neighbor,
and our neighbor is anyone and everyone, no matter
who they are or what color they are. He answered,
Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all
your soul and with all your strength and with all your
mind; and, Love your neighbor as yourself. Luke

Pastor Jonathons Word of The Week
HE KNOWS YOU

He knows you. He knows every movement youll
make today (Psalm 139: 2-3)every action, step, and
pause for rest; every blink, glance, and breath.
He knows every thought youll have today (v 2)
every joy, question, and concern.
He knows you; Hes familiar with you (v3). He knows
your complete personality. He knows your behavioral
patterns, bad habits and comfort zones. He knows
every temptation and victory. When you are confused,
he can unravel the intricate workings of your heart.
Theres no rock large enough, no place far enough,
no darkness thick enough to hide you from Him.
He knows what your future holds and the pathways
youll take to arrive there.
In a world of global connections but ever-declining
Intimacy, here is a truth that heals and liberates: God
knows you---Copied
