Part II: Reflection
CANDIDATE REFLECTIONS: (Minimum of 3-4 sentences per question)
1. Briefly describe the field experience. What did you learn about technology facilitation and leadership from completing this field experience? By completing the Data Overview, I had the opportunity to analyze different ways my school assess their students and how these assessments are being effectively used for data analysis. The assessments included in the overview is required by the state. It is so important to find effective use for assessments. This makes assessments a valuable tool and it should be used to guide teaching and student learning. I definitely benefited from determining how the assessment could be used more effectively when collecting data. 2. How did this learning relate to the knowledge (what must you know), skills (what must you be able to do) and dispositions (attitudes, beliefs, enthusiasm) required of a technology facilitator or technology leader? (Refer to the standards you selected in Part I. Use the language of the PSC standards in your answer and reflect on all 3knowledge, skills, and dispositions.) The Data Overview impacts school improvement and student learning. The overview was used as a summary to review CRCT Data which ultimately impacts the school improvement process. Implementing assessments can impact student learning. Assessments enables teachers to determine how their students are performing as well as what should be retaught or what should be taught next. The impact of the Data Overview could be assessed by the School Improvement Team or by reviewing the School Improvement Plan. 3. Describe how this field experience impacted school improvement, faculty development or student learning at your school. How can the impact be assessed? If I could do this differently, I would have set up an appointment to discuss the Data Overview with my principal. Their input on this assignment could have been beneficial and given me a deeper understanding of the data used in our school.
