WYWLA Girls Leadership Class 2014-15

GLC Overview: We will continue to use GLC as a time to develop our young
womens leadership savvy and improve their communication and relationship
building skills. We will use GLC to explore PBIS and character education themes,
complete school-wide projects and participate in college and career readiness
activities, including regular interim check-ins to further develop an
advisor/advisee relationship with students and their GLC teachers.
Daily Schedule: GLC will continue to meet on Mondays, Wednesdays and
Fridays. MS will continue with Power Block and HS will continue with tutorials
on Tuesdays and Thursdays. HS GLC time will remain the same. MS GLC time
has been moved to before lunch to allow for more collaboration between MS &
HS and to align campus bell schedules.

Quarterly Rotation of Themes and Activities: Wednesday and Friday activities will
remain consistent throughout the year. We will rotate Monday activities based
on school-wide projects. Mondays will also be used for school-wide
announcements.

Wednesday: PBIS lesson plans, using WCPSS Character Education videos and
interim distribution. GLC teachers will be responsible for printing interims for
their classes.

Friday: College & Career Readiness rotation with K. Hardin, D. Cadavid & K.
Bryant. Classes that are not participating in this rotation will pull from grade level
established lesson plans on our GLC website.
