Client-Centered Counseling by Carl

Rogers

Strength of this theory
This approach emphasizes that the counselor can
determine the success or failure of the counseling
process,
Counselors are given the freedom to change himself,
The importance of inter-personal relationships in the
counseling process,
The importance of self-concept,
Counselors serve to instruct and demonstrate full
understanding and acceptance.
Weaknesses of this theory:
Sometimes counselors seem to find it does not
feel the absence of direct and obvious purpose of
the counseling process, especially in the absence
of direction and advice from the counselor.
This approach is considered to be too tied to the
cultural environment of the United States, a very
appreciative person survival and expansion
potential in life.
