Internship Objectives and Requirements
The goal of the internship is to provide the student with an opportunity to participate in the operation
of the [Clear Channel Media & Entertainment], thereby enhancing the student's knowledge in this
area. The student should develop a thorough understanding of how [Clear Channel Media &
Entertainment] operates, the organizational structure of the agency, and services provided by [Clear
Channel Media & Entertainment].
STUDENT NAME will serve as an internship student at [Clear Channel Media & Entertainment]
during the [Summer]. She/he will work toward fulfilling requirements for the 495 course. Internship
responsibilities as outlined below will be performed under the supervision of [Angel Edmond,
Communications Coordinators in the Communications Department.].
Goals: Below are the goals the intern has developed with their internship supervisor.
Example: To learn how the WCIA newsroom runs effectively and efficiently.
My goals are to see how the Chicago radio stations operate behind the scenes and to
understand all the work that goes into putting together a successful show or segment.
Learning Objectives: Below are the activities and areas of learning that will help the intern
achieve their goal. These activities are agreed upon with the internship supervisor.
Example: Assist with research for a story
Attend departmental meetings as time allows
Conduct informational interviews with reporters, producers, directors, anchors, etc.
I will be working with all seven radio stations like: WGCI, KISSFM, V103, and so forth.
I will be assisting different radio stations and attending their Chicago events.
I will be in charge of writing press releases, promoting the radio stations on their social
media pages, writing public service announcement, and so forth.
Ill have to attend departmental meetings as well.


Learning Outcomes: Below are the learning outcomes the student hopes to accomplish at the
end of the semester that will be used to identify whether the student has accomplished the goals
outlined above.
Example: I will be able to articulate the various components of the WCIA newsroom.
I will be able to describe the organizational structure of the office and the role each
staff person plays within the organization.
I will be able to articulate the various components of how different radio stations come
together in order to properly function.

I will be able to apply media writing and production techniques to create original projects.

I will demonstrate an understanding of radio through my work and studying others in the
professional work force.





Proposed Internship Schedule
The following schedule of hours will be maintained by the intern to satisfy the 100 clock hours
necessary for completion. Changes in this schedule will be discussed with the site supervisor in
advance.
Indicate the days and times you will work in your internship site below:
Monday: 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Tuesday: 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Thursday: 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Friday: 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
