Punishment For a Sin Committed by A Believer is removed in 10

WaysFrom Majmoo al Fataawa of Shaik ul-Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah

1) Makes tawbah – repentence having remorse and different

conditions for repenting IF Allah azza wa jal accepts
repentance then the believer is forgiven

2) Makes istighfar– ongoing request for forgiveness i.e.

Astaghfirullah

3) Does good deeds to erase his sins – follows up bad with good
deed
a. In 40 ahadeeth of Imaam an-Nawawi: On the authority of
Abu Dhar Jundub bin Junadah, and Muadh bin Jabal that the
Messenger of Allah salla allahu alayhi wa sallam said :
"Fear Allah wherever you are, and follow up a bad deed with a
good one and it will wipe it out, and behave well towards
people."

4) Believing brother seeks forgiveness for his brother when he

dies which lessens his punishment or while he is alive

5) The individual asks Allah azza wa jal to bestow on a him a gift

from the reward of their deeds to remove the punishment

6) The Prophet salla allahu alayhi wa sallam intercedes for the

believer. Going through trials and tribulations sins are expiated
and rank is risen – even if a prick on the finger

7) Allah azza wa jal tests him in the Barzakh which is the life in the
grave before ressurection. Punishment there expiates sins.

8) Allah azza wa jal tests the believer tests the believer on youm-
al qiyamah which expiates his sins

9) Ar-Rahman has mercy upon him

10) If any of these are missed there is no one to blame but

ourselves!
