Codes The system comprises of:- EPS ecu Warning light on the dashboard Connection to the OBD2 Diagnostic port Vehicle speed sensor (which might be in the dashboard as part of the speedo) A sensor which detect steering rotation on the input shaft of the steering rack A motor which aids the steering effort fitted to the rack
To gain the diagnostic flash codes from the warning light on the dashboard (which EPS light will be constantly on if there is a fault) all you need to do is short out two pins on the OBD2 connector, using a paperclip or a piece of wire. Take care not to touch any other pins, and simply push the paper clip into the plug to keep the following pins joined:-

It may take a few attempts to get this right, and it might help if you made a simple switch with some wire/pins to push into the connector.
